• Data Wiping หรือเรียกอีกอย่างว่า Data Sanitization เป็นการใช้โปรแกรมในการลบข้อมูล ที่ผ่านการรับรองตามมาตรฐานสากล หลังจากการทำลายข้อมูลแล้วหน่วยความจำยังคงสามารถนำกลับมาใช้งานได้อย่างปลอดภัย
• Degaussing เป็นการลบโดยการทำลายสนามแม่เหล็ก โดยใช้เครื่องที่ผ่านการรับรองตามมาตรฐานสากล หลังจากการทำลายด้วยวิธีนี้จะทำให้หน่วยความจำไม่สามารถนำกลับมาใช้งานได้อีก
• Physical Destruction เป็นการทำลายหน่วยความจำทางกายภาพ เช่น การบด (Shredding) และการเจาะ (Drilling) เป็นต้น วิธีการนี้ จะทำให้หน่วยความจำไม่สามารถนำกลับมาใช้งานได้อีกเช่นเดียวกัน
